It can be hard to decipher various schools' terminology, especially when it comes to grades. Here, we compare as best we can.
You must not assume that a school that uses, for example, "Year" correlates with the British style.
In the UK, Year 1 = 5 years old. In at least one school in HK, their Year 1 = 6 years old.
If your child is born 1 Sep - 31 Dec, you'll need to adjust down one year for most schools but not all.
Most schools cut off their intake at 31 August but ESF is the notable exception with a 31 December cut off (for now). You cannot choose to have a child go up or down a year.
